The ride begins in five days.
This should give you an idea of what we will be carrying.
Naomi Aitken and I will start our Seattle-Portland ride via Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens on Tuesday, the 27th, although my friends Kerry and Aaron tell me my official starting point was Friday Harbor (80 miles north on San Juan Island) since I rode and ferry hopped down from there on Tuesday. It was my longest loaded ride so far and ended with the luxury of a shower and a bed. This will not usually be the case on the road so I am enjoying it while I can.
Summer in Seattle is grand. It has been treating me well and will be missed.
It’s a slow motion stuff-ploshun!
Naomi – Sara and I enjoyed being your first en route companions yesterday as you rode southward from Renton to Auburn. You have a great plan and we look forward to staying in touch via your web page. Espero que tengas un buen viaje!
It was great having you as our first companions. I’m realizing that I am going to be grateful towards so many people along the way. We’ve already been given maps, offered food, shelter and advice on the best routes. In fact, we cannot seem to stop anywhere without a conversation. I’m glad you’re following the blog. Greet Vietnam for me!
Naomi
Greetings,
So delighted to meet you and Naomi on the first day of your trip out of Seattle. Sharing a few road miles with you made a delightful day for me.
Happy trails to you… and I hope we meet again.
Sara
Sara & Rebecca – great to hear from you! You both also made our day with our 15+ miles together. We arrived safely in Portland with 260 miles under our belts in 4 days and some seriously beautiful elevation. I wish Naomi (2) could continue the ride with me. I’m off with my boyfriend, Manna, tomorrow morning to the coast!
Look forward to hearing stories of Vietnam.
Naomi
